How to Talk to AI So AI Will Give You What You Want

Want to increase the quality of your AI outputs?

Check out these five quick ways to get better responses:

1. Be Specific
   Give details about who, what, where, and tone.
   Example: “Write a Facebook post for a new listing in Williston, Vermont. Highlight the mountain views and nearby schools for families who may be upsizing.”

2. Assign a Role
   Tell the AI who to act as…a top Vermont agent, marketer, or transaction coordinator. It helps set the right tone and expertise.

3. Give Steps
   Break it down: “1. Brainstorm three blog ideas for first-time buyers. 2. Pick the best one. 3. Write a short post with a friendly tone.”

4. Show an Example
   Paste something you like and tell it to match the style.

5. Refine Together
   Ask for edits, tweaks, or new versions until it fits your brand.

And when all else fails, try my favorite hack:
Ask the AI to ask you three (or twelve!) questions, one at a time, to clarify what you want.

It quickly gets the AI (and you) on the same page.
